Image Processing Projects

Abstract:

Panorama stitching research today focuses on accurate and efficient image alignment. This image processing project proposes a triangular facet approximation-based local-adaptive image alignment method that directly manipulates matching data in camera coordinates and outperforms camera imaging models.

Two weighting strategies make a more robust planar transformation model local-adaptive. The planar and spherical triangulation strategies efficiently align normal and fisheye images by approximating the scene as a combination of adjacent triangular facets. Comparative experiments on several challenging cases qualitatively and quantitatively demonstrate the method’s efficacy. Read also Communication Projects.
